With the title „Tech­no­lo­gi­es of singing – In­vest­ig­a­tions on the dis­pos­it­ive singing – body – me­dia at the dawn of sound re­cord­ing“ a re­search act­iv­ity star­ted in March 2016 in col­lab­or­a­tion of the Mu­sik­wis­sen­schaft­li­ches Se­mi­nar der Uni­ver­si­tät Pa­der­born and the Erich-Thi­en­haus-In­sti­tut at Det­mold Uni­versity of Mu­sic. It is fun­ded by the DFG with 1 mil­li­on euros for a peri­od of three years (Pro­ject Num­ber: 289601849). At ETI the fo­cus of the pro­jecty is the in­vest­ig­a­tion of the in­ter­ac­tion of the his­tor­ic­al re­cord­ing tech­no­logy around 1900 on the singing voice pro­duc­tion and per­cep­tion. Re­cent meth­ods of voice ana­lys­is, syn­thes­is and acous­tic meas­ure­ment tech­nique are em­poyed to achieve a bet­ter un­der­stand­ing of the per­form­ance prac­tice and re­cord­ing tech­nique at that time.
