On November 21, 2025, a full-day seminar on measurement and analysis technology in the fields of room acoustics, building acoustics, and sound reinforcement took place at the ETI. Bodo Besselmann and Lena Haverkamp presented current products from NTi and provided a hands-on introduction to their practical applications.

The sem­in­ar fo­cused on the gen­er­a­tion and meas­ure­ment of sound fields, ad­dress­ing both room/build­ing acous­tics and pro­fes­sion­al sound re­in­force­ment scen­ari­os. Par­tic­u­lar at­ten­tion was giv­en to the ap­pro­pri­ate use of NTi equip­ment already avail­able at ETI, in­clud­ing XL2, XL3, Globe­Source, PA3, Talk­Box, re­lated soft­ware tools, and sev­er­al meas­ure­ment mi­cro­phones. In ad­di­tion, se­lec­ted new NTi products were in­tro­duced and demon­strated.

A key em­phas­is of the sem­in­ar was the pro­tec­tion of hu­man hear­ing dur­ing events. Through prac­tic­al meas­ure­ment ex­amples, the presenters il­lus­trated how acous­tic meas­ure­ment tech­no­logy can be used re­spons­ibly to mon­it­or sound levels and re­duce po­ten­tial health risks.

In the first part of the sem­in­ar, fun­da­ment­al acous­tic prin­ciples and core product fea­tures were ex­plained. The second part fo­cused on prac­tic­al use cases, fol­lowed by an open Q&A ses­sion, al­low­ing for in-depth dis­cus­sion of in­di­vidu­al ques­tions and ap­plic­a­tion scen­ari­os.

The sem­in­ar took place from 9:30–11:00 and 11:30–13:00, and was held both on site in the small sem­in­ar room at ETI and on­line via Zoom. Par­ti­cipants gained valu­able in­sights in­to mod­ern meas­ure­ment tech­no­logy and its re­spons­ible use in pro­fes­sion­al au­dio en­vir­on­ments.
