NTi-Seminar
On November 21, 2025, a full-day seminar on measurement and analysis technology in the fields of room acoustics, building acoustics, and sound reinforcement took place at the ETI. Bodo Besselmann and Lena Haverkamp presented current products from NTi and provided a hands-on introduction to their practical applications.
The seminar focused on the generation and measurement of sound fields, addressing both room/building acoustics and professional sound reinforcement scenarios. Particular attention was given to the appropriate use of NTi equipment already available at ETI, including XL2, XL3, GlobeSource, PA3, TalkBox, related software tools, and several measurement microphones. In addition, selected new NTi products were introduced and demonstrated.
A key emphasis of the seminar was the protection of human hearing during events. Through practical measurement examples, the presenters illustrated how acoustic measurement technology can be used responsibly to monitor sound levels and reduce potential health risks.
In the first part of the seminar, fundamental acoustic principles and core product features were explained. The second part focused on practical use cases, followed by an open Q&A session, allowing for in-depth discussion of individual questions and application scenarios.
The seminar took place from 9:30–11:00 and 11:30–13:00, and was held both on site in the small seminar room at ETI and online via Zoom. Participants gained valuable insights into modern measurement technology and its responsible use in professional audio environments.
