Mahler 3 live form Detmold

None

The university orchestra’s concerts in Detmold were accompanied by a live streaming seminar, in which tonmeister students were responsible for the complete media production. The seminar was led by Sascha Etezazi.

In addition to fundamental streaming and camera techniques, a strong emphasis was placed on the visual aesthetics of concert broadcasts. A key element was the role of the score reader in a live video context, connecting musical structure with visual dramaturgy in real time.

Alongside audio-related research conducted within several bachelor’s theses, the students worked under real production conditions. Taking responsibility for image direction, camera operation, and live coordination required focused attention, musical insight, and close teamwork.

The seminar was carried out with great commitment and visible enthusiasm by the participating tonmeister students. Although this group differed from those involved in the Poland excursion, their motivation and professionalism were equally evident.

For many participants, the live streaming seminar proved to be a formative experience, sharpening their awareness of the close interaction between music, image, and technology.
