On April 18, 2026, the Study In­form­a­tion Day 2026 will take place at the Uni­versity of Mu­sic Det­mold (HfM Det­mold).

We at the Erich Thi­en­haus In­sti­tu­te (ETI) also warmly in­vite all in­ter­es­ted vis­it­ors to gain an in­sight in­to our teach­ing pro­gram. To this end, we have pre­pared a var­ied and en­ga­ging sched­ule.

Mix­ing Work­shop (3 sim­ul­tan­eous work­sta­tions) 10:00–11:00, 15:30–16:30

In the mix­ing work­shop, you will dive in­to the world of mu­sic mix­ing.

With­in one hour, we will in­tro­duce you to the most im­port­ant ba­sics you need to cre­ate your own mix. You will re­ceive a re­cord­ing of a first-class band and can im­me­di­ately start work­ing on your own mix.

Au­dio Edit­ing Work­shop (2 sim­ul­tan­eous work­sta­tions)

11:30–12:00, 13:30–14:00, 14:30–15:00

Why does nobody ever seem to make mis­takes in re­cord­ings?

In the au­dio edit­ing work­shop, you will learn how a fin­ished re­cord­ing is cre­ated from a pro­duc­tion with many takes. After a short in­tro­duc­tion to the soft­ware, you will be able to se­lect the best ver­sion us­ing the score and try your hand at pla­cing the per­fect edit.
