Creative workshop on building electric guitars
As part of a three-day workshop on musical instrument construction, participants were given the opportunity to acquire fundamental knowledge of the design and construction of stringed instruments. The aim of the event was to combine theoretical learning with practical experience by collaboratively building individual electric guitars from spare parts.
The workshop began with an introduction to the principles of electric guitar design and construction. Various construction methods, materials, and electronic components were presented. Participants were encouraged to contribute their own ideas and suggestions and to plan their instruments according to their personal preferences.
The second day of the workshop focused on the practical implementation of the designs. The guitar necks and bodies were assembled and adapted to meet individual requirements. This was followed by the installation of the electronic circuits, which were tested together. At the end of the day, the instruments were painted and prepared for final finishing.
The third day was dedicated to fine-tuning and sound testing. Participants made final adjustments to their instruments and evaluated the sound quality and functionality of their completed guitars.
The workshop not only provided technical insights into instrument making but also promoted creativity, teamwork, and practical craftsmanship. In particular, the combination of theory and hands-on experience was highly appreciated by the participants.
The project will conclude with a presentation and demonstration at ETI on 29 May 2026. During this event, the completed instruments will be showcased, and the results of the workshop will be shared with guests and interested visitors.
