As part of a three-day workshop on musical instrument construction, participants were given the opportunity to acquire fundamental knowledge of the design and construction of stringed instruments. The aim of the event was to combine theoretical learning with practical experience by collaboratively building individual electric guitars from spare parts.
On April 18, 2026, the Detmold University of Music opened its doors to prospective students as part of the university-wide Study Information Day – and, of course, the Erich Thienhaus Institute was once again part of the event.

Another recording supervision seminar, led by Sascha Etezazi, confronted the participating tonmeister students with an exceptionally demanding project. At the center was the musical recording supervision of an audio and video production featuring the Young German Philharmonic—a nationally renowned student orchestra with a long tradition and outstanding artistic quality.
As part of an international project, the university orchestra collaborated with the Music Academy in Katowice, Poland, on Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 3. Under the direction of Patrick Lange and with Prof. Gerhild Romberger as soloist, an ambitious musical project took shape, including rehearsals and concerts in both Detmold and Katowice.

Kurz vor Weihnachten war die Dipl.-Tonmeisterin Michaela Wiesbeck für ein dreitägiges Aufnahmeleitungs-Seminar zu Gast am Erich-Thienhaus-Institut. Wiesbeck arbeitet unter anderem als Tonmeisterin beim Bayerischen Rundfunk und verfügt über langjährige Erfahrung in Konzertübertragungen, Opernproduktionen sowie internationalen CD-Produktionen im Bereich der klassischen Musik.
Every autumn, the young professionals group of the German Acoustical Society (DEGA) meets for several days at an acoustics institute somewhere in Germany. The aim of the workshop is to explore the diversity of acoustics, foster professional exchange, and build new connections.
On November 21, 2025, a full-day seminar on measurement and analysis technology in the fields of room acoustics, building acoustics, and sound reinforcement took place at the ETI. Bodo Besselmann and Lena Haverkamp presented current products from NTi and provided a hands-on introduction to their practical applications.
