Control Room 2
The newly renovated Control Room 2, equipped with the digital console MC2 56 (Lawo), is primarily used for recording classical and contemporary music. The 9.1.4 3D monitoring system, consisting of ME-Geithain RL 901 and RL 904 speakers, enables the precise realization of immersive productions of all kinds. In most cases, the adjacent concert hall of the university serves as the recording space, which is connected to the control room via various Lawo stageboxes.
For DAWs, users can choose between Pyramix (Merging), Sequoia (Magix), or Pro Tools (Avid). Several peripheral devices enhance the capabilities of digital processing. In addition to a Lexicon 960 and two Bricasti M7 reverb units, the renovation introduced various outboard devices specifically designed for mastering, including an SPL Iron Mastering Compressor.
