Our students at the university enjoy the great privilege of bearing special responsibility for their own education and working materials. For example, we are given access to all workstations at any time, day or night, and have access to all microphones and mobile recording systems in our "Carlos" digital microphone cabinet.
As student and research assistants, our own people take over accompanying practice lessons for the important lectures of the lower classes or maintain our computer systems, networks and special equipment.
We also have a say in the Tonmeisterrat when it comes to important decisions affecting our education, such as new investments and seminar planning.
During the so-called "cleaning and maintenance days" we regularly ensure that our institute maintains a pleasant working atmosphere. This means cleaning up, dusting mixing consoles and maintaining instruments, but sometimes also soldering cables, checking signal paths, and testing hardware.
Altogether, all this isn't half so bad, and in the end the grill is always switched on and a keg is tapped.
