At some point in the middle of the summer semester, the legendary Tonmeisterparty (usually quite suddenly) is on the agenda: the annual highlight of Detmold's student party scene. Every spring eager Tonmeister students agree on a new, outsider, often cryptically appearing motto and choose the new party organizer. This position - at least in the summer semester - is at the top of the hierarchy of tutors at the ETI.

After that, apart from a large-scale beer order, not much happens for a long time until shortly before the planned party, ordinary sound engineer students turn into specialists for lighting technology, pyrotechnics, video installations, sound design, streaming, programming of surveillance systems, stage construction, DJ-ing, band arrangements, rehearsal management, innovative and motto-suitable set list compilation, more or less (but more and more!) sustainable decoration, trailer shooting, costume construction, cocktail recipes and much more.

Old generations pass on their accumulated knowledge to new ones and the whole institute is turned upside down for a week. Everyone can let off steam creatively, try out completely different things, and forget what our facilities were originally intended for.
